Le Va
Le Va is Aotearoa’s Pasifika primary prevention organisation, supporting people of the moana to unleash their full potential.
Kaupapa/purpose:
Le Va’s purpose is to support people of the moana to unleash their full potential.
We support and encourage this by carefully designing and developing evidence-based resources, tools, information, knowledge and support services for the best possible health and wellbeing outcomes.
We do this all while recalling our traditional values, and applying them safely, in a contemporary way.
Services:
Workforce development - working with those delivering mental health, disability, addictions, public health, suicide prevention, violence prevention, primary prevention and general health and wellbeing services to develop flourishing Pasifika communities.
Engaging Pasifika - cultural competency programme for non-Pacific health workers, offering blended learning to improve services for Pasifika communities.
Community support - walking alongside churches, sports clubs, education centres and relevant groups with large Pasifika populations to ensure the right knowledge, skills and information is reaching the right people at the right time.
Resources - research and publications produced by Le Va and our partners with a Pasifika focus.
