Tauiwi Tautoko

Tauiwi Tautoko (non Māori in support of Māori) started as a community project by ActionStation to see how racism on the internet could be addressed by equipping volunteers with evidence-based listening and messaging techniques to have more caring, thoughtful and informed interactions online.

Kaupapa/purpose:

A decolonised and equitable future for Aotearoa. Tangata Tiriti, Pākehā and Tauiwi have a role to play in anti-racism, so that Māori can spend their time focusing on what matters to them.

Services:

  • Facilitated course - join a group across the motu for an 8-week facilitated training, tailored for tauiwi Pākehā and tauiwi of the Global Majority cohorts. Go on a challenging and rewarding learning journey that translates into more effective courageous conversations, with weekly online webinars and ongoing support and feedback.

  • Organisational workshops - need to prepare staff to counter racist backlash to your mahi? Looking for concrete next steps after Te Tiriti training? Experienced Tauiwi Tautoko facilitators can tailor courses, training and professional development workshops to fit your organisation's needs.
